There’s just 3 days to go until the East Coast Tassie Charity Bike Ride begins, thanks to 25000spins.com and our awesome riders who are fundraising for us and cycling 300km over 3 days!
Some of our riders are however under their minimum fundraising target, but there’s still time to support Team Bikes 4 Life!
Here’s some of our rider profiles from a short set of questions we gave them – so you can get to know them a little more, and at the end of each profile there is also a link to their direct fundraising page with their fundraising status and targets for all to see:
Giacomo Rafaghello
Giacomo, this is your 2ndride for Bikes 4 Life, so what is it about 25000Spins rides that keep you coming back for more?
Yes it is my second ride. Two main reasons for coming back : great opportunity to support the good cause of bikes 4 life, great to see new places cycling.
Have you trained or are you going to wing it?
I’m not a regular cyclist so I’m going to wing it
What is your favourite meal after a ride?
Probably big bowl of pasta
We understand you work for Visa Global Logistics, and it can get quite stressful at times, does cycling take your mind off things?
It’s great to have some time off work even if cycling long distances can be also quite painful if you not trained.
Longest you have ever ridden in one day and where?
Probably the first day of the last event from Geelong to Apollo Bay.

Lara Mudri
This is your first ride with 25000spins, how did you hear about it and why did you choose Bikes 4 Life as your charity?
This is my first ride, Craig was twisting my arm to join because I’m such a pro athlete and he thought it would be good to have such a high profile rider on the trip. Bikes 4 Life was my charity of choice because there is a lot of bikes that go to waste in Australia that could be so beneficial to someone in another country.
Have you trained or are you going to wing it?
I have trained, I am training and will continue to train
What is your favourite meal after a ride?
Usually nothing too heavy, maybe fruit and plenty of water
We understand with work it can get quite stressful at times, does cycling take your mind off things? – Yes
Longest you have ever ridden in one day and where?
Just over 50kms on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Breakfast of Champions – what is it? – Coffee

Brenden Cooke
This is your first ride with 25000spins, how did you hear about it and why did you choose Bikes 4 Life as your charity?
A friend told me about 25,000 spins a few years ago – this is my 3rd ride with them. I have chosen to support a different charity each year so far, however what attracted me to support bikes4life is that it is volunteer based, provides practical help to those in need and recycles old bikes instead of them being chucked.
Have you trained or are you going to wing it?
Winged it once, never again…
What is your favourite meal after a ride?
Fresh vegie/ginger juice then blended (soaked overnight) almonds and sunflower seeds with fresh apple & a bit of water.
We understand with work it can get quite stressful at times, does cycling take your mind off things?
It’s a great way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine coast while staying fit.
Longest you have ever ridden in one day and where?
200km (twice) when I was a teenager – helping mates fundraise for a fly and build to Solomon islands
Breakfast of Champions – what is it?
Officially weetbix, but see Q3 for the real deal

Tom Sung
This is your first ride with 25000spins, how did you hear about it and why did you choose Bikes 4 Life as your charity?
YES, it is my first ride with 25000spins. I heard about Bikes 4 Life charity through the 25000spins effort and immediately wanted to support them for my fundraising effort. I have been a long believer in the power and simplicity of commuting via 2-wheels and was more than happy to see the funds going to communities in need, both within AU and abroad!
Have you trained or are you going to wing it?
I have not been on the bike for a couple of long months, but pick it back up about 3 weeks ago (when I registered for the ride). I know I am going to feel those hills!
What is your favourite meal after a ride?
Water. Followed by beer. Probably tuck into something hearty like pasta or pot pie when dinner time comes around. Don’t know if that is the best meal for an “athlete” like myself.
We understand with work it can get quite stressful at times, does cycling take your mind off things?
It can be very social if your riding with mates, but yes, out on the open road on your own, you can really just zone out and just relax.
Longest you have ever ridden in one day and where?
105km. Gosford to St Albans at a very slow pace (with camping gear strapped to the panniers)
Breakfast of Champions – what is it?
Streaky bacon, eggs, hash browns, grilled tomato and mushroom and greens. Again, not sure if it is on the “athlete menu”.
